Fulham v AFC Bournemouth Preview, Championship, Friday 6th March 2015.

It’s troubling times right now for Fulham FC who were once seen as a worthy Premiership side, yet in recent years have started to decline now under new ownership and management. Right now Fulham are eight points away from a relegation fight for their lives and have eleven games to turn things around. Even though Fridays opponents Bournemouth haven’t been their best lately, they are still the bookmakers favourites to win away from home in this fixture. After this tough fixture we do see Fulham’s schedule darken slightly with the next four clubs all above them and in better form.

Bournemouth’s form did slip slightly at the end of February when two away loses on the trot see them drop off the top of the Championship table. Yet a good win over Wolves on Tuesday did see them climb back to within three points from the top where Middlesbrough right now sit comfortably. Bournemouth are favourites on Friday and after have an easy fixture against bottom club Blackpool before then facing Cardiff City. It’s the game after that which we are excited about however, when Bournemouth play hosts to fellow Premiership promotion contenders Middlesbrough.

Fulham Team News:

The main focus right now is the position of current Fulham manager Kit Symon’s roll even though he has had a public backing statement by club chairman Shahid Khan. The clubs run of eight games without a win was ended with a rare win over Derby County and things looks to be on the up however they then lost away to Watford. The clubs top scorer is Ross McCormack with thirteen goals in all competitions with fellow striker Rodallega close behind with twelve.

AFC Bournemouth Team News:

Bournemouth have finally ended a poor run of form with a match winning penalty from Yann Kermorgant when they faced Wolverhampton Wanders on Tuesday. It see them close the gap to within three points of Middlesbrough and if they manage a win against Fulham it could see them top of the Championship going into the weekends run of fixtures. The clubs top scorer is Callum Wilson who has scored fifteen Championship goals and two Capital One Cup efforts.

Fulham v AFC Bournemouth Head to Head Statistics:

In the last five head to head encounters between these two clubs we have seen AFC Bournemouth come out on top with two wins and three low scoring draws. In total we only have eight games against each other where Bournemouth have won four to Fulham’s single win. Meaning we also have seen three draws in total.

Previous Average Goals Per Game Statistics

In the eight games we have recorded between the two clubs we have seen a total of sixteen goals scored. This is going to give us an average of 2 goals scored per game, and when looking at the last three encounters you can understand why. However Fulham are by far the team we have seen over the last ten years so could potentially see one or two more?

AFC Bournemouth: W D L L D

Usually this case would be an easy one to pick out, as Bournemouth are clearly the better team over the season. Yet in the last five games we have seen them on a poor run of form and it was only in their last game that we could potentially see that change. Fulham have been in poor form all season and have only won the once in their last ten games in all competitions.

Fulham v AFC Bournemouth Match Predictions, Tips & First Goal Scorer Bets.

Championship action starts on Friday and could see previous leaders AFC Bournemouth retake the top of the table if the can manage a win over struggling side Fulham FC. The game can be seen live on Sky Sports 1 High Definition and features a Bournemouth side who are hoping their last result could be that change in form they have needed. Fulham have only won the one game in their last ten fixtures in all competitions yet are not seen as likely winners come Friday evening.

We did see Derby County overturned by this Fulham side in recent weeks which was seen as a big shock when considering both clubs runs of form. If the Derby result had gone the other way they would of been top of the Championship instead of current side Middlesbrough. Bournemouth have ended a terrible run which has seen three draws and two loses since their last win which was against Wigan Athletic. Yet the last result which was against respectable opponents Wolves, did see them come up trumps when they managed a 2 – 1 win to see them return back to winning ways.

My predictions for Fridays game will back Bournemouth to continue building on that recent win with a positive result over the struggling Fulham, as I cannot see the home side overturning a side like Bournemouth right now. You could see a possible draw which would be a good option I suppose when looking at the last five encounters. Yet I just cannot see it myself, so plan to back Bournemouth to win in both. So lets go for a correct score of Bournemouth to win 2 – 0 as my first, with the next being
