Juventus v Real Madrid Preview, Champions League, Tuesday 5th May 2015.

Tuesday nights Champions League semi final 1st leg action is going to be an extremely tough test for the Italian Champions who never seem to progress to this far in the competition. Yet after the easier round of having to get past Monaco, we will now see a true test on how good Juventus are when they come face to face with last years Champions League winners Real Madrid. Juventus have already won the Serie A with four games left remaining so can come into this game fully focused on now beating their tough Spanish opponents in hope that they don’t then visit Spain and get a hammering.

La Liga is starting to heat up and gather in momentum with only three games left to play, and teams like Barcelona and Real Madrid have all to play for here with both in contention to win the Spanish title. Barcelona are leading the league by two points currently and do yet have to face tough side Atletico Madrid who are in third and out of contention of retaining their title. Real Madrid have Valencia as their toughest opponents who themselves are looking to overtake Atletico Madrid to take that third place and automatic Champions League promotion spot.

Juventus Team News:

Juventus will be without midfielder Paul Pogba although could recover in time for the second leg in Spain. Andrea Pirlo, Arturo Vidal and Claudio Marchisio will take midfield with the Frenchman’s absence. Juventus could go for a 4-4-2 or a 4-3-3 and either Alvaro Morata or Llorente partnering Carlos Tevez up front.

Real Madrid Team News:

Reports are in that Real Madrid have left forward Karim Benzema at home for the trip to Juventus, the Frenchman has been recently out due to a knee injury. Also missing from the Spanish clubs line up is midfielder Luka Modric. We have heard Carlo Ancelotti will select a 4 – 4 – 2 formation to face Juventus. Gareth Bale has returned from a calf injury also.

Juventus v Real Madrid Head to Head Statistics

In the last five head to head encounters it has been the Italians who have enjoyed the better results with winning three while losing and drawing the once. In total we have nine games recorded and it is still Juventus the better team with five wins, a single draw and three loses.

Previous Average Goals Per Game Statistics

In the nine games we have recorded between these two massive clubs, there have been a total of twenty five goals scored which is going to give us an average of 2.7 goals per game. Looking at the above table that mark is pretty spot on so the below selection could be a good option for tomorrow night.

Juventus v Real Madrid Form (Left to Right)

Juventus: W W L D W

Real Madrid: W W W W W

Real Madrid are the better team in form right now with the five wins in a row, although we do also need to consider that Juventus have already become champions of Italy with ease, while Real Madrid still have a lot of work to do to beat Barcelona to the top.

Juventus may well be at home on Tuesday night for the 1st leg, yet are still not the bookmakers favourites to actually win the game after ninety minutes. The best odds right now on Juventus to win can be seen here @ 21/10 with Ladbrokes – £25 Free Bets when Registering a New Account.

The Draw has only been seen once in the past between these two clubs and could be a good option on Tuesday night if the Italian club do play well and match Real Madrid’s European dominance. Juventus v Real Madrid  Match Predictions, Tips & First Goal Scorer Bets.

Champions League Semi-Final 1st Leg action on Tuesday night comes to us live on ITV 1 High Definition and features Italian Champions Juventus, verses Real Madrid who are the competitions winners last year. Both clubs are in great form right now and history has it that it is the Italians who have had the better results when the two clubs have met in the past. In the last five head to head fixtures Juventus have won three, while losing and drawing the once.

As for the clubs domestic leagues, we have seen Juventus already win the Serie A league with plenty of games left to spare. While Real Madrid are still in second position and in hope that Barcelona some how slip up in the last three games. They do have to face last years winners Atletico Madrid which could be a turning point, but Real Madrid do also have a tough game in Valencia so it could go either way here.

My predictions for this game will be to back both teams for a win, and avoid the draw. So with that my first will be to go against that of what the statistics say regarding the 2.7 goals per game average, and actually go for a correct score of Juventus to win 1 – 0 on the night. The other will be for both teams to score and for the away side Real Madrid to win overall. Making the second leg even tougher for the Italians when they have to visit Spain.
