Burnley v Tottenham Hotspur Preview, Premiership, Sunday 5th April 2015

Burnley are still fighting for their league survival but could move out of the bottom three with a victory at home against Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday afternoon if Sunderland lose at home to Newcastle United and that will surely be enough incentive for the players to give their fans and manager 100% in this game.

Tottenham Hotspur still have hopes of securing a top four finish and with it a champions league place next season and head into this game having won three of their last four matches so the confidence through out the squad will obviously be high, but until the defensive problems are resolved Spurs always look like conceding goals and I really can’t see them being able to catch Manchester United in the race for that all important top four finish.

Burnley Team News:

Dean Marney and Kevin Long remain unavailable for the hosts as they both continue to receive treatment for respective injury related problems and Matthew Taylor also looks like missing out as he struggles with an achilles problem.

Tottenham Hotspur Team News:

The visitors have almost a full squad to choose their starting lineup from but will be without their inspirational goal keeper Hugo Lloris as he is still suffering from a knee problem. Danny Rose and Eric Dier are both doubts and will under take a late fitness test to see if they can be involved.

Burnley v Tottenham Hotspur Head to Head Statistics:

Sunday’s afternoon game from Turf Moor will become the 77th meeting between the two clubs overall of which Burnley have won 30 with 20 having came with home advantage, where as Tottenham Hotspur have won 28 times with just 7 having came at Turf Moor.

As we can see below in our head to head statistics table which shows the recent five meeting between the two clubs over recent season’s, it has been Tottenham Hotspur who have mostly dominated as they have managed to win 3 times compared to Burnley having won just 1 with the remaining game having finished all square.

Burnley v Tottenham Hotspur Match Betting Odds Market

Burnley have the all important home advantage for this game where they do have a very good record over Tottenham Hotspur but despite those two factors the online bookmakers don’t see them winning this game as they currently have the hosts priced up at odds of 5/2 with Bet365 – £200 Matched Bonus Bets for New Customers, which does seem a little strange.

The Draw would be a sensible option here as when the teams last met each other at Turf Moor in the FA Cup the game did end up in a 1-1 draw and I can certainly see this game following suit and the current best price available of 13/5 with BetVictor – £25 Free Bets for New Customers, does look good value.

Tottenham Hotspur are the clear favourites to win this game on Sunday afternoon and are currently a best price of 5/4 with Paddy Power – Bet £10 & Receive £20 Free Bets for New Customers, but this does look a bit on the short side as with Lloris not playing they look certain to concede.

Burnley v Tottenham Hotspur Match Predictions, Tips & First Goal Scorer Bets.

Burnley will be desperate to win this game as all 3pts could see them move out of the bottom three if Sunderland lose at home against Newcastle United and with a packed out Turf Moor fully behind the hosts, they obviously have a big chance to do so.

Tottenham Hotspur need to win pretty much every game of the season left now if they are to have any real hopes of being able to catch Manchester United in the race for a top four finish, but with the defence continuing to make school boy mistakes and their goalkeeper Lloris unavailable due to injury I am expecting Burnley to get at least one on Sunday afternoon.

The average goals per game statistics are expecting this match to see plenty of goals scored and with their only having been one match in the last eight that has seen less than three goals scored the goals markets does seem to be the sensible are to concentrate on here when looking for a bet.

As such my Banker is going to be for the game to see Over 2.5 Goals as although this is only priced up at around 8/11 with most online bookmakers it does seem a solid choice on what the goal statistics are saying.

My Saver is going to be for Both Teams to Score & Burnley to Win as I just think they will prove the stronger of the two sides as they desperately need the 3pts to move out of the bottom three places of the league table and a win on Sunday afternoon could be very important to their league survival.
