Barcelona v Real Betis Preview, Primera La Liga, Saturday 5th April 2014

Barcelona will be hoping Atletico Madrid slip up at home to Champions League chasing side Villarreal at the weekend although with how they are playing it is an unlikely result. Barcelona will be going into this game knowing that a win is no doubt going to happen but of course must guard against complacency. Relegation is close to unavoidable for Real Betis and I am not sure if they have any fight left in them as they come to face the inevitable.

This is a must win game for Real Betis who are currently sitting as far to the bottom of the La Liga as possible and with nine points between them and safety I believe their outcome is very near impossible to avoid. Barcelona have dropped a fair few points to bottom division sides recently but you would of hoped they have learned from such mistakes and throwing away the league had almost become a possibility.

Barcelona v Real Betis Team News

Barcelona Team News:

Barcelona have a number of key players missing on Saturday with Alex Song being the more recent with a calf issue. Defender Puyol is still missing with a knee injury while Cuenca is out with a thigh strain. On top of that we have Victor Valdes and Santos out for the long term with crucial knee ligament damage. On top of that Barcelona are missing Jordi Alba due to suspension.

Real Betis Team News:

Real Betis are far worse off than Barcelona and currently have nine players on the injury list. Salva Sevilla (broken hand), Antonio Amaya (hamstring), Perquis (hamstring), Jose Caro (knee), Didac Vila (ankle), Igiebor (knee), Chuli (toe), Nacho (hip) and Xavi Torres (ankle) are all those currently out short and long term.

Barcelona v Real Betis Head to Head Statistics

Barcelona as expected win the head to head challenge below with 4 wins and a draw. In total though these two sides have met 37 times in the past with Barcelona winning 21 to Real Betis’ 8. Also we have 8 draws with 3 of those earned at the Nou Camp.

Previous Average Goals Per Game Statistics

In these 37 games played in the past we have counted a total of 140 goals scored which is giving us a very high average of 3.8 goals per game. I can seriously see more than that coming on Saturday as Real Betis continue to struggle with keeping out the goals.

Barcelona v Real Betis Recent Form (Left to Right)

Barcelona: D W W W W

Real Betis: L W L L D

As expected it is the Spanish Champions who are the team in better form here even though they did manage to drop a fair few points last month in the La Liga. Recovery seems to have set is as they look to  fight back in their bid to retake top spot. Real Betis are in serious trouble and only have seven games to avoid the dreaded relegation drop.

Barcelona v Real Betis Match Betting Odds Market.

Barcelona are as expected clear favourites for this game and it is seen without doubt that Barcelona will completely destroy Real Betis on Saturday. The bookmakers odds are as expected very bad, with the best currently found here @ 1/16 with BetVictor – £25 Free Bets For New Customers Registering an Account.

The Draw is almost as unlikely seen as Real Betis managing a shock win on Saturday, with the odds as they are could it be worth a sneaky small bet? Doubtful from me as I feel relegation is unavoidable for the away side here. With the bookmakers best odds set @ 14/1 with Stan James – Receive £10 Free Bets when Registering an Account

Real Betis may as well just stay in the changing rooms and except the default defeat on Saturday with how the bookmakers are setting the odds, and even if they had any fight left in them for a relegation survival I cannot see a result coming here this Saturday. The best available odds are set here @ 35/1 with BetVictor (£25 Free Bets for New Customers)

Barcelona v Real Betis Match Predictions, Tips & First Goal Scorer Bets.

If both La Liga teams play as expected on Saturday then we could be set for a very exciting game full of Barcelona goals. Sky Sports 3 have picked a good one here for any fan or neutral looking for a football match giving the potential of a lot of goals.

Barcelona have slipped up in the past to sides in the relegation zone but we need to be serious here and think about the possibility of them doing it once more. I personally cannot see it and can only imagine Barcelona coming away for a hat-full of goals this Saturday. Real Betis have almost just laid over and accepted the inevitable and that relegation is now unavoidable in their eyes. Coming to Barcelona and hoping for a win is a small miracle as they themselves are chasing for the La Liga title they almost let slip last month.

My predictions for this game do of course see Barcelona to win but I am going to add for them to score over 4.5 goals. The other I am going for is Lionel Messi to score a hat-trick on the day which is showing some nice odds right now. I feel two good solid selections here which could well be possible come Saturdays game.
