Germany v Chile Preview, International, Wednesday 5th March 2014

News about the German International team recently sees Borussia Dortmund boss Jurgen Klopp linked with a possible more to become the national manager at some point. Although he has said he is very happy with his current managerial position he would be more than happy to take the hot seat if it ever became available and the German nation wanted him to take the job.

Chile have setup this challenging friendly in preparation for the upcoming World Cup in May. Although they do have an easy side in Australia they do also have two challenging European sides to compete against with Spain and the Netherlands completing Group B. If Chile do manage to beat this strong German side it should see them have the advantage in Brazil as they will be used to the current heat.

Germany Team News:

In Germany’s last five matches we have seen Arsenal defender Mertesacker net a couple of times with the more recent being the winner against England at Wembley back on November. Chelsea’s Andre Schurrle has been in great form for his national side having scored four times which includes a hat-trick against Sweden in the World Cup Qualifier. Although the Arsenal new boy Mesut Ozil has recently suffered a huge drop in confidence and form in the Premiership you can only hope his international form hasn’t suffered even though he has netting twice in the last five games.

Chile Team News:

Barcelona’s star winger Alexis Sanchez is in incredible form for his country right now having scored five goals in the last five games which also includes the brace he scored which sunk an in form England at Wembley Stadium. Chile did lose Carlos Carmona after two yellow cards against Colombia back in October but is once more available for selection. Pablo Hernandez is also making a name for himself in the national squad after grabbing a brace against Costa Rica in which the game ended 4 – 0.

Germany are in great form right now and just pip Chile here after the South Americans lost to Brazil in a friendly last year. In the last five games both sides here have beaten England in friendly matches and at the famous Wembley Stadium.

Germany v Chile Match Predictions, Tips & First Goal Scorer Bets.

I can’t deny that I am extremely looking forward to this match and would love to see the South Americans pull one over the Germans on Wednesday night. It is a result Chile should be pushing for if they wish to put some fear into Spain and Holland who they have to face in the World Cup Group stages.

Germany will be looking to continue their winning form as they haven’t lost since June 2013 which was against the USA which ended 4 – 3 on the night. Granted it is only one loss in their last fifteen internationals although in regards to winning against superior opposition I could only see France among them. Germany have also drawn against the Netherlands and Italy which are also some great results.

With predictions for this game potentially favoring the home side Germany I do strongly feel that Chile could possibly cause an upset on the night, so plan to go for bother teams to win one way or the other. The first will be for Germany to win and for the youngster Andre Schurrle to score. The second prediction is for both teams to score and Chile grab the win.
