Ipswich Town v Middlesbrough Preview, Championship, Friday 4th December 2015.

Friday night Championship action this week see’s Ipswich Town host second place Middlesbrough. Ipswich Town right now are just outside the play-off positions and also ten points adrift Brighton & Hove Albion who are top of the league. Recent form has been good having not lost in their last six Championship fixtures. They have currently earned three wins and three draws which has seen them slightly climb up the table rankings. A win at home against Middlesbrough this Friday will see them climb up into sixth and then three points behind Burnley.

Middlesbrough actually come into this game on the back of a loss in the Capital One Cup Quarter Final when they were knocked out 2 – 0 by Everton at home. This Friday is the first of four tough games in a row with Birmingham City, Burnley and top team Brighton & Hove Albion being the opponents. Blackburn Rovers completes the fifth fixture which is to be played on Boxing Day. A win on Friday will see Middlesbrough go top of the pile even if it is only until Saturday when Brighton & Hove Albion welcome Charlton Athletic to their home ground.

Ipswich Town Team News:

Good news for Ipswich Town and its fans after striker Freddie Sears finally ended his eleven game run without a goal. the striker scored away from home in the 3 – 0 win over Charlton Athletic. Ryan Fraser should still be out for a couple of weeks yet after he suffered an injury in Scotland’s U-21 fixtures back in mid October.

Middlesbrough Team News:

Tomas Kalas has returned from injury and is now available for selection, while captain Grant Leadbitter also returns after missing the game last weekend at Huddersfield Town due to a suspension.

Ipswich Town v Middlesbrough Match Predictions, Tips & First Goal Scorer Bets.

Championship action this Friday night can be seen live on Sky Sports 1 High Definition and features home side Ipswich Town verses second place Middlesbrough. We did see the later lose during the week against premiership side Everton in the Capital One Cup quarter final round. Ipswich Town themselves have been on the up and haven’t lost a game since Hull City away from home back in late October.

Both clubs are in great form and although Ipswich Town haven’t lost in six games they are still eight points behind second place Middlesbrough, who if win on Friday could go top until Brighton & Hove Albion play Charlton Athletic on Saturday. Middlesbrough are the slight favourites to win the match even though they haven’t managed to achieve that result since way back in 1993. They have only won three times away from home to Ipswich Town with the other two victories come way back in the seventies.

Predictions this Friday will no doubt be a tough one as Middlesbrough are the better team in form although they haven’t won at this ground for twelve years. That said its bound to happen soon and this year with Middlesbrough being so strong could be their best chance yet. I’m personally going to back the draw as my banker for Friday nights game, as I see that as a very possible result. The other I am going for is both teams to score and for Middlesbrough to win the game.
