Bayern Munich v Arsenal Preview, Champions League, Group F, Wednesday 4th November 2015

Bayern Munich must of been returning home to Germany a fortnight ago absoloutely stunned at having been beaten by Arsenal 2-0 at the Emirates Stadium and it seems as like the players are still suffering a bit of shock as they could only manage a 0-0 draw away against Eintracht Frankfurt over the weekend.

However, I do expect the players to be right up for this game on Wednesday night and with Arjen Robben now back in the side the hosts will be expected to gain revenge over their visitors and win this game.

Arsenal will no doubt still be in confident mood of being able to do the double over Bayern Munich as Arsene Wengers side has no problems beating Swansea away from home over the weekend in the Premiership which they won 3-0 and although they will be missing a couple of key players, confidence will be high and they certainly are not without a chance of causing another huge upset based on what we have seen from Bayern Munich this season, who do look a mere shadow of their former selves.

Bayern Munich Team News:

The hosts will still be without Franck Ribery, Mario Gotze and Sebastian Rode as all three players remain unavailable due to respective injury related problems, but several first-teamers have returned from injury.

Arjen Robben and Javi Martinez started Friday’s draw with Frankfurt whilst Medhi Benatia was an unused substitute and this does at least make Bayern Munich a much stronger side to the one that lost 2-0 over in north London a fortnight ago.

Arsenal Team News:

The visitors will be without the services of Aaron Ramsey after he joined several of his team-mates on the sidelines after picking up a hamstring problem in the 2-0 victory against Bayern Munich a fortnight ago.

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Theo Walcott, have also picked up muscular problems that will keep them out until after the international break and this does leave the Arsenal manager a little weak in his midfield for this important clash on Wednesday night.

Bayern Munich Arsenal Head to Head Statistics:

Wednesday night’s game from the Allianz Arena will become only the tenth meeting between the two clubs over the years. Bayern Munich have managed four victories, two of those having came with home advantage, whereas Arsenal have managed to win three of these with one of those having came away from home.

Our head to head statistics table below shows the last five meetings between the two clubs over recent years and as we can see it has been very close with both clubs having won two games each and the remaining game having finished all square which suggests that this game on Wednesday night really could go either way.

20/10/15 UCL Arsenal – Bayern Munich 2 : 0
11/03/14 UCL Bayern Munich – Arsenal 1 : 1
19/02/14 UCL Arsenal – Bayern Munich 0 : 2
13/03/13 UCL Bayern Munich – Arsenal 0 : 2
19/02/13 UCL Arsenal – Bayern Munich 1 : 3

Previous Average Goals Per Game Statistics

22 Goals have been scored in the previous 9 matches played between the two clubs over the years, which provides us with an average goals per game statistic of 2.44.

9 of those Goals have been scored in the previous 4 matches played between the two clubs at the Allianz Arena which generates us an average goals per game statistic of 2.25.

Both sets of statistics seem to suggest that this game should see at least 2 or 3 Goals scored on Wednesday night and betting markets such as Both Teams to Score, Total Match Goals 2 or 3 all look good options for this match.

Bayern Munich v Arsenal Match Betting Odds Market

Bayern Munich are the clear odds on favourites to gain revenge over their visitors and win this game on Wednesday night and are a current best price available of 4/11 with Bet365 – Receive £200 Matched Bets for New Customers.

The Draw is currently a best price of 21/5 with BetVictor – Receive £50 Free Bets for New Customers and looks good value as there really doesn’t look to be much in this game after Arsenal beat Bayern 2-0 in the reverse fixture a fortnight ago.

Arsenal are not given much chance of causing another shock victory against one of the World’s best sides and this is reflected in their current best price avaialble of 7/1 with Coral – Deposit £5 & Receive £20 Free Bets For New Customers which I can certainly see some people getting on at as this does look way overpriced.

Bayern Munich v Arsenal Match Predictions, Banker Tips & First Goal Scorer Bets

The 2-0 defeat Bayern Munich suffered against Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium a fortnight ago will no doubt be fresh in all of the Bayern Munich players minds and now with home advantage each and every one of them will be looking to put the record straight.

However, Bayern have not looked anything like the side we are used to seeing this season despite them still leading the way at the top of the Bundesliga table and their 0-0 draw away against Eintracht Frankfurt over the weekend is a prime example that the club is not having things all their own way like they are used to.

Arsenal will be desperate for another victory as with just 3pts taken from their opening three matches of the group stage the club is still in desperate trouble to qualify for the knock out stages of the tournament and both the fans and players will be fully aware of this.

Arsenal have been rocked by a few key injuries to their squad though since the two teams last met each other a fortnight ago with Aaron Ramsey and Theo Walcott now both missing and it really is going to take an almighty performance by the visitors if they are to stand any chance of returning back to the capital with anything from this game.

Onto some predictions then and my Banker Free Tip is going to be for Both Teams to Score as I do think Arsenal can get on the score-sheet in this game and I am expecting Bayern Munich to get at least a couple, so this does look the safest option here.

My First Goalscorer Free Tip is going to be Thomas Muller as he always seems to produce goals for his clubs when they really need one and with much of the Arsenal defence probably concentrating on what Robert Lewandowski is doing, this could leave Muller with the space needed to fire his side into the lead.
