Arsenal v West Brom Preview, Premiership, Sunday 4th May 2014

Arsenal head into this game having won their last match 3-0 against a very poor Newcastle United team, which all but secured a place in the Champions league next season as Everton suffered a 2-0 defeat at the hands of Southampton. There is still a chance of Everton finishing ahead of Arsenal but they would have to beat Manchester City at the weekend and hope that the Gooners slip up in both of their remaining two games left.

West Brom should be safe after their win last weekend but they are not out of the woods yet as I think they will need one more win from their last three fixtures to guarantee they will play in the Barclays Premier League come the start of the new season. I expect Arsenal to be quick out the blocks as they were against Newcastle on Monday night, as I don’t think the players will want to squander that last Champions League place that they are currently occupying.

Arsenal Team News:

Arsenal have a number of injury problems heading into this penultimate game of the season with Walcott, Wilshire, Miyaichi, Gnagbry, and Diaby all sidelined till next season with respective injury problems. Oxlade-Chamberlain and Gibbs might make the last game of the season. Arsenal are free of suspensions this week.

West Brom Team News:

Pepe Mel’s side also have a few injuries going into this game as Gera, and Reid are out for the season. Mcauley and Ridgewell have a slight chance of making the last game of the season. West Brom have no players suspended.

Arsenal v West Brom Head to Head Statistics:

The recent head to head statistics below show us that Arsenal have a commanding advantage in the previous five meetings between the two clubs having managed to win 4 times with West Brom only having managed just the 1 draw.

198 of those Goals have been scored in the 59 matches played between the two clubs at the Emirates, which gives us an average goals per game statistic of 3.35.

Looking at both statistics above it seems to suggest that this game on Sunday afternoon will see a definite of 3 goals scored in the match.

Arsenal v West Brom Match Betting Odds Market

This is a big game for Arsenal as they look to one hundred percent secure their place in the Champions League come next season. I would think that Arsenal will win this game comfortably with what’s at stake for them and I believe they will score a few goals as they did on Monday night. The best price for an Arsenal victory is available at a best price of 3/10 with Coral (Deposit £5 & Receive £20 Free Bets, Limited Time Offer, New Customers Only).

The Draw is probably the best that West Brom could hope for in this game, however there is a possibility if they defend well and get their attacking players on the ball more than in recent weeks. The best price is coming in at 5/1 with BetVictor (£25 Free Bets for New Customers).

West Brom to win this fixture for me is very unlikely as I see this as a must win game for Arsenal and wit West Brom last having beaten Arsenal coming back in 2010 it would be a huge shock to see Pepe Mel’s side win this one and the bookmakers seem to agree by offering up a best price of 12/1 with Bet365 (£200 Matched Bonus Bets for New Customers).

Arsenal v West Brom United Match Predictions, Tips & First Goal Scorer Bets.

Arsenal will see this game as a fairly straight forward affair if their previous five meeting with West Brom are anything to go by as they have won four of them, drew the once and have not lost.

Looking at the head to head statistics and the Previous average goals per games ration then there is a great chance of their being at least three goals scored in this fixture.

My banker for this game has been fairly straight forward as I have taken all the statistics into account and I have opted to go for Arsenal to be leading after 30 minutes. The reason I have gone for this is that I feel Arsenal will be coming out of the blocks very strong as they look to secure that 4th place finish in the league.

My saver for this game ve chosen to go for a score win double for Arsenal, which is Aaron Ramsey to score and Arsenal to win as with him failing to score in the last game he will be eager to finish the game on a high.
