Sevilla v Manchester City Preview, Champions League, Tuesday 3rd November 2015.

Some strange results for Sevilla who seem to be extremely hit or miss when it comes down to form right now. One minute beating the likes of Barcelona only to then go and draw against Eibar. They were unlucky in England when they met Manchester City a couple of weeks ago, having taken the 1 – 0 lead, and it was a hard result to take especially conceding an own goal six minutes after going ahead, and then losing the game in the 90th minute. They did bounce back a few days later when they played hosts to Getafe, having smashed them 5 – 0, only to then show the inconsistency card by losing 2 – 1 the following week! Sevilla will have to view this home game against Manchester City as a must win, as anything but will surely spell disaster when looking to progress out of the group stages.

Manchester City were lucky when they hosted Sevilla a couple of weeks ago, winning the game in the last minute with a Kevin De Bruyne strike that managed to sneak in off the post. Since then they travelled across the city to play bitter rivals Manchester United and earned a point when the game ended goalless.

They have managed to retain the top spot in the league, although they did just scrap through with an 89th minute penalty kick by Yaya Toure. This will certainly be an important victory if they pull it off against Sevilla, leaving them in a good position to focus on the away fixture to Juventus come the end of the month. It’s certainly going to be a tough month for Manchester City, although with the form they are in we should see them cope well enough to potentially come out on top.

Sevilla Team News:

Sevilla are worried about the fitness of Ever Banega with the player missing the last game due to injury. Nico Pareja, Daniel Carrico and Beta are all missing for the home game against Manchester City,

Manchester City Team News:

Sergio Aguero has been injured for a few weeks now and we don’t think it will be until mid to late November until seeing the striker again. Gael Clichy was ruled out at the end of August for 6 – 7 weeks, and has recently returned back to training after the full backs ankle injury.

Samir Nasri (hamstring), David Silva (ankle) and Pablo Zabaleta (knee) complete Manchester City’s injury list. Fabian Delph has returned from injury although I can’t see him featuring on Tuesday.

Sevilla v Manchester City  Head to Head Statistics:

The two sides have only met once in the past which was very recently this year in the Champions League group stages. The two meet again tomorrow night with Manchester City having the upper hand when they managed to pull back a 1 – 0 loss to win in the 90th minute. Sevilla will need to win this on Tuesday if they want to stay in with a chance of progressing out of the group stages.

Previous Average Goals Per Game Statistics

With just the one game to go by we can’t really rely too much on that statistics for the goals per game average. Right now it sits at 3 goals per game, and to be honest it is a good base to go on when looking at Tuesdays fixture in Spain. The below option is something to look at.

Manchester City are the better team in form right now as they sit top of the Premiership table, and after their lucky result against Sevilla at The Etihad stadium we do see City in with a solid chance of progressing out of the group stage and into the knockout rounds. City are the favourites to win on Tuesday, although only slightly ahead of the home side Sevilla.

Sevilla v Manchester City Match Predictions, Banker Tips & First Goal Scorer Bets

Champions League action Tuesday night comes to us live via BT Sports 2 High Definition and features La Liga side Sevilla verses Premier League leaders Manchester City. The two played each other a couple of weeks ago in Manchester where City managed to sneak in the win with a 90th minute strike by Kevin De Bruyne. We do see that the bookmakers have set Manchester City as the favourites, and with the injury list they have it does come down as a slight surprise.

Sevilla are in a real strange place when it comes down to consistency as you can’t just simply beat Barcelona one week and then draw against the likes of Eibar. They even managed to shock the likes of Manchester City in England a couple of weeks back, and it was hard to see them lose it at the last minute of the match. Manchester City on the other hand are in good form, and although they may not be winning all games convincingly, they are still grinding out the wins which proves that a potential title challenge is 100% possible.

My predictions for Tuesdays fixture in Spain in leaning more towards a draw of some kind, and with that I am thinking both teams to score and draw after the ninety minutes. Sevilla were unlucky when featuring against City at The Etihad, so I am hoping some luck be swinging their way as they welcome City to Spain. The next I am going for is Manchester City to win 2 – 1 on the night, repeating that result seen a couple of weeks ago at their home ground.
