Manchester United v Everton Preview, Premiership, Sunday 3rd April 2016

Manchester United head into this game having had an average season by all accounts, they are still in with a chance of securing a champions league place as they are only a point behind Manchester City and West Ham United, however failure to win this game on Sunday afternoon would probably see that gap widen as both Manchester City and West Ham are expected to win their games on Saturday afternoon.

Everton head into this game with their season pretty much over as they have no realistic chance of making up the points needed to qualify for Europe next season and with the club 10pts clear of the relegation battle below, they look as if they have already done enough to ensure they will be playing premiership football next season.

Everton fans will have been disappointed by their teams overall performances this season as there has been times where Everton have looked extremely good and many thought they had the players to at least make a top 6 finish, but the consistency has not been there this season as their current 12th place in the league table clearly shows.

Manchester United Team News (Courtesy of Sky Sports):

Schweinsteiger will miss almost certainly the rest of the season due to knee ligament damage. The Germany international is joined on the sidelines this Sunday by Wayne Rooney and Luke Shaw, who are not yet ready to feature after knee and leg injuries.

Phil Jones and Will Keane remain absent, but Ashley Young and Ander Herrera will be hoping to return to the fold after groin complaints.

Everton Team News (Courtesy of Sky Sports):

Everton defender John Stones is fit for Sunday’s match at Old Trafford after recovering from a minor knock sustained on England duty. Forward Kevin Mirallas is available after suspension, but midfielder Gareth Barry serves the final game of a two-match ban.

Defender Bryan Oviedo is fully fit after a chest infection.

Manchester United v Everton Head to Head Statistics:

Sunday afternoon’s fixture from Old Trafford Stadium will become the 177nd meeting between the two clubs over the years, of which Manchester United have managed to secure 77 victories overall with 49 of these having come with home advantage, where as Everton have managed 54 victories overall with 15 of those having came away from home.

Our head to head statistics table below shows the last five matches played between the two clubs and as we can see Everton have a slight advantage heading into this game having won three times, compared to Manchester United having won twice.

17/10/15 PRL Everton – Manchester United 0 : 3
26/04/15 PRL Everton – Manchester United
3 : 0
05/10/14 PRL Manchester United – Everton 2 : 1
20/04/14 PRL Everton – Manchester United 2 : 0
04/12/13 PRL Manchester United – Everton 0 : 1

Previous Average Goals Per Game Statistics

499 Goals have been scored in the previous 176 matches played between the two clubs over the years, which provides us with an average goals per game statistic of 2.84.

226 of those Goals have been scored in the previous 85 matches played between the two clubs at the Etihad Stadium which generates us an average goals per game statistic of 2.66.

Both sets of statistics seem to suggest that this game should see at least a couple of Goals scored on Sunday afternoon and betting markets such as Both Teams to Score and Total Match Goals 2 or 3 look good betting options for this match.

Manchester United v Everton Match Betting Odds Market

Manchester United are six places above Everton in the league table but head into this game having won just one of their last five matches and for me their current best price of 11/10 with BetVictor – Receive £50 Free Bets when Registering a New Account does not look great value at all, especially when we see Everton have beaten United three times in their last five meetings.

The Draw has not happened once in the previous five meetings played, but this game does represent an opportunity for those statistics to change as I could see this game finishing all square on Sunday afternoon and this is available at acurrent best price of 12/5 with SkyBet – Bet £10 & Receive £40 Free Bets for New Customers Registering an Account.

Everton don’t really have anything to play for in this game as they do look to have enough points to avoid becoming involved in a relegation battle for survival, however I expect Everton to finish the season on a high note and for me their current best price of 3/1 with Paddy Power – Bet £10 & Receive £30 Free Bets when Registering a New Account does look great value here.

Manchester United v Everton Match Predictions, Tips & First Goal Scorer Bets.

Manchester United are in a situation where they must try to win all of their remaining eight matches if they are to have any real chance of securing a champions league place for next season, but with some of their key players still out injured I think they are going to be for a very difficult game indeed.

Everton have disappointed their fans this season with numerous poor performances which at the moment has them winning nothing yet again, but they are in with a chance of making the FA Cup final and I would expect manager Roberto Martinez to have his players fired up for this game.

Onto some predictions then and my Banker Free Tip for this match is going to be for Everton to Win as they do look great value with the online bookmakers and with an excellent record against United in recent season’s these odds just look to big to pass up.

My First Goalscorer Free Tip will be Romelu Lukaku who has once again been excellent for his side in front of goal this season and with two goals in the FA Cup quarter final against Chelsea, he will no doubt be in confident mood for this one.
