Ipswich Town v AFC Bournemouth Preview, Championship, Friday 3rd April 2015

Ipswich Town are having a great season and head into this game in good form having won their last two league matches on the bounce. Those two victories have moved Ipswich Town back into a top five position in the league table and still very much in contention of the winning the league title as they are only just 6pts behind current league leaders and Friday night’s opponents Bournemouth.

Bournemouth are riding high at the top of the SkyBet Championship and head into this game also in very good form having remained unbeaten in their last six matches in which they have picked up four victories and two draws and with an excellent 3-0 win at home against Middlesbrough last time out, the whole squad will be confident of getting at least something from this game on Friday evening.

Ipswich Town Team News:

The hosts will be without Jonny Parr and Kevin Bru as both players continue to receive treatment for respective injury related problems. David McGoldrick and Darren Ambrose have returned back to training this week though although it’s not certain that either will be risked in this game.

Bournemouth Team News:

Callum Wilson is the only doubt for the visitors and he will under take a late fitness test to see if he can be involved in this one. Kenwyne Jones will step into to replace Wilson if he fails his fitness test having joined the Cherries on loan from Cardiff City.

Ipswich Town v Bournemouth Head to Head Statistics

Friday night’s fixture from Portman Road will become just the 4th meetings over the years and neither club has managed to win a single game with all three of those matches having finished all square.

As we can see in our head to head statistics table below, two draws have came at the Goldsands Stadium and one draw has came at Portman Road.

22/11/14 CHA Bournemouth v Ipswich Town 2 : 2
21/04/14 CHA Ipswich Town v Bournemouth 2 : 2
29/12/13 CHA Bournemouth v Ipswich Town 1 : 1

Previous Average Goals Per Game Statistics

10 Goals have been scored in the previous three matches played between the two clubs over the years and this provides us with an overall average goals per game statistic of 3.33.

4 of those Goals have came in the only game played between the two clubs at Portman Road which finished in a 2-2 draw and this generates an average goal scoring record statistic for this game of 4.00.

These two clubs always seem to score plenty of goals when going up against each other and both sets of data above seem to suggest that we should see at least 3 goals scored in this one on Friday evening.

Ipswich Town v Bournemouth Match Betting Odds Market

Ipswich Town are a current best price available of 21/10 with BetVictor – £25 Free Bets for New Customers to win this game on Friday evening and are unbeaten at Portman Road since the 10th of January when they lost 1-0 against Norwich City.

The Draw is currently a best price of 12/5 with Bet365 – £200 Matched Bonus Bets for New Customers and this looks very good value considering all three previous games between the two clubs have finished all square.

Bournemouth are currently the slight favourites to win this game at a best price of 29/10 with Ladbrokes – £25 Free Bets for New Customers but have lost two of their last four games on the road and as such their odds do look a bit on the short side.

Ipswich Town v Bournemouth Match Predictions, Tips & First Goal Scorer Bets.

Both clubs are having very good season’s and are playing some good football in recent weeks. Ipswich Town have the all important home advantage and we have to go back to the 10th January this year to find their last defeat at Portman Road, so the hosts will certainly be confident about their chances in this game.

Bournemouth are currently top of the league table and but have struggled on the road in recent weeks having won one, drawn one and lost two of their last four away matches and do look worth taking on what with their opponents having such a good record in front of their home fans.

All three previous games played between the two clubs have finished all square and it would not come as much of a surprise to see this game follow suit as both clubs would probably be happy enough with a point each and the draw is definitely worth getting something on as your main cover bet.

However, my Banker Prediction for this game is going to be for the game to see Over 2.5 Goals as both squads have players up front scoring plenty of goals and with the last game played between the two clubs at Portman Road ending up in a 2-2 draw, I can definitely see this game having a few goals scored.

My Saver is going to be Both Teams to Score & Draw as with all three of the previous meetings having finished all square, this does seem a sensible cover bet at what are generous odds available.
