Leicester City v Newcastle United Preview, Premiership, Saturday 2nd May 2015.

Leicester City have a great chance of really breaking away from the relegation battle this Saturday when they have to face struggling side Newcastle United. In the last five Premiership fixtures Leicester City have incredibly won four and lost the once against Chelsea, and with that have finally climbed off the bottom and out of the relegation zone. A win on Saturday will close the gap between the two sides to just one point, and in turn drag them down and into the relegation scrap.

Terrifying times for Newcastle United and it’s fans, with them now having lost their last seven league fixtures on the trot, and this Saturday could see that become the eighth as Leicester City are certainly fighting for their own Premier League survival. Newcastle United are only five points outside of the relegation zone and with four games left remaining it certainly isn’t looking good for the historic club. They have Queens Park Rangers to play soon who are also fighting to get out of the bottom three, so that could be a very tough game away from home.

Leicester City Team News:

Leicester City are without four players due to injury right now with Robert Huth the first with a knock. Andy King also has a knock and could miss the weekends game while David Nugent will be out with a calf strain. The last is Zoumana Bakayogo who wont feature this season due to knee ligament damage.

Newcastle United Team News:

Newcastle United are also without four players due to injury, but do also miss Papiss Cisse due to a suspension. Rob Elliot has a thigh strain and Massadio Haidara with a knee injury. Cheikh Tiote is still out with his own knee issue while last of all there is Steven Taylor with his Achilles tendinitis.

Previous Average Goals Per Game Statistics

In the 78 games played out between the two clubs there have been a total of 230 goals scored. This is going to give us an average of 2.9 goals per game which hasn’t been seen in a long time. If anything like the above is anything to go by then we maybe lucky for just the one goal, yet I personally am going to go with two scored.

Leicester City v Newcastle United Match Predictions, Tips & First Goal Scorer Bets.

Premiership excitement is close to coming to an end here with only four games left for most clubs to play. Saturday lunchtime will see Leicester City host troubled Newcastle United with both teams desperate for the win after the ninety minutes. In Leicester City do win then they close the gap between them and Newcastle United to just one point, which in turn also drags the famous club ever closer into relegation danger.

Leicester City are the side in far better form here and have won four out of their last five Premier League games, which has seen them climb out of the relegation bottom three. They did lose their last game which was against league leaders Chelsea and even took the lead just before the half time whistle. Newcastle United have lost their last seven games on the trot and are favourites to make it an eighth loss come Saturday.

My predictions for this game on Saturday will see the home side Leicester City continue with their good form and close the gap between them and Newcastle United to just one point. If Sunderland also win then we could see even more excitement with their rivals potentially taking their place come the end of the season. Anyway my first is for Leicester City to win the game 2 – 0. while the second one is for Esteban Cambiasso to score and Leicester City to win the game.
