Barcelona v Real Madrid Preview, Primera La Liga, Saturday 2nd April 2016.

Barcelona pretty much have the league in their hands this season with them currently nine points out in front of Atletico Madrid and ten points ahead of Real Madrid who still believe they what it takes to catch them up. With just eight games left to play, and with them set as the favourites to win this match, it really is Barcelona’s to lose with the final run in to the season coming up.

Its an incredible run of thirty nines games unbeaten in all competitions for Barcelona with their last loss seen way back in October when Sevilla managed a 2 – 1 win at home. Not only are they dead certs to win the La Liga they are also most peoples favourites to win Copa del Rey and more importantly the Champions League final. They have Atletico Madrid next after beating Arsenal in the last round, and will be no doubt the favourites to progress and go all the way.

Real Madrid still believe it is possible to catch up Barcelona even with just eight league games remaining, and the recent 4 – 0 win over Sevilla at home will no doubt put across the fact that their belief and confidence is still as high as ever. It’s been a five game winning run for the club after they lost at home to second placed Atletico Madrid back at the end of February. A result that has seriously dented their chances of winning the La Liga again.

Madrid may well be out of the Copa del Rey, yet they are still in with a chance of winning the Champions League after they knocked out the Italians of Roma. They now face Bundesliga side Wolfsburg in the next round and are of course favourites to progress into the later stages of the competition. The club have a rather easy run in to the end of the season with Villarreal the hardest of the eight games left remaining.

Barcelona Team News:

Barcelona should be able to field their strongest side to face Real Madrid on Saturday with the only players missing being that of Jeremy Mathieu and Adriano who both suffered injuries during last week. We also need to note that defender Jordi Alba could also be out even though recent news has said he could potentially play on Saturday.

Real Madrid Team News:

Bad news for the away side Real Madrid heading into this crucial match as Raphael Varane missed training due to calf injury he picked up playing for France during the international break. We also see Toni Kroos injured and could also miss the match after he was hurt during training by fellow team mate Jese Rodriguez. Sergio Ramos missed the last game against Italy but did manage to return to training so he should play on Saturday.

Barcelona v Real Madrid Head to Head Statistics:

Barcelona just come out on top here in the last five games played with three wins and the two loses. They have however won the last two fixtures and with them playing at home on Saturday are considered the favourites to win the game. We have 59 games recorded between the pair with Barcelona also on top here with 26 wins and 17 loses. Leaving the remaining 16 games ending as draws of some sort.

Previous Average Goals Per Game Statistics

In these 59 games recorded we do have a total of 185 goals scored, which is going to give us a goals per game average of 3.1. In the last eight games played we have seen either 3 or 4 goals scored on the day, so we can only hope to see more of the same this Saturday. I’m going to go with a total of three goals scored in the game which has a very good chance of coming in I feel.

Barcelona v Real Madrid Recent Form (Left to Right)

Barcelona: D W W W W

Real Madrid: W W W W W

Although on paper here we do see Real Madrid the better of the two with that extra win, it is by far their opponents Barcelona who are in exceptional form with 39 games without a loss in all competitions. They are currently nine points ahead of second place Atletico Madrid and also favourites to win the Champions League and Copa del Rey.

Barcelona are the clear favourites to with this El Clasico and make it the third one in a row which will no doubt end Real Madrid’s hopes of catching them up this season. The Draw is a result seen often in the past with the last seen back during the Copa del Rey in 2013 at the Nou Camp. This to be honest isn’t a result I see happening on Saturday although Barcelona may see a draw as enough to see of their rivals. best odds on the draw found here @ 18/5 with Betvictor – £25 Free Bets for New Customers when Registering a New Account

Real Madrid haven’t been at their best this season having already sacked Raphael Benitez earlier on during the year. They now come into this game with Zidane as their coach with it being his first El Clasico as a manager. Barcelona v Real Madrid Match Predictions, Tips & First Goal Scorer Bets.

This Saturday we have an incredible match on offer with the El Clasico to be viewed live on Sky Sports 2 and in High Definition. With the international friendlies out of the way this year we can now concentrate on all the domestic leagues finishing up before the excitement of EURO 2016 in France. Barcelona to be honest pretty much have this league in the bag as I for one cannot see them throwing away a nine point lead to Atletico Madrid.

Even if Barcelona do manage to play badly they still more often than not manage to pull constant wins or draws out of the hat, with the last loss seen way back in October to Sevilla 2 – 1. With them potentially making this game the 40th game on the trot without a loss, what better game to do it in than an El Clasico fixture and against one of the worlds best in Real Madrid.

Real Madrid were dealt a blow this week with Raphael Varane and Toni Kroos unlikely to feature, having both pulled up this last week with injuries. That said on top of that we do note that injuries have played a huge part in Real Madrid’s poor performances this year with Gareth Bale, Sergio Ramos and more missing chunks of the teams fixtures due to time consuming injuries.

With eight games left to play and a rather easy run in to the end of the season they really do need to win this away match against Barcelona on Saturday. A loss I am sure you can agree with no doubt spell the end for Real Madrid as it would leave the club a massive thirteen points behind. Villarreal could also be a tough game with them recently drawing 2 – 2 away from home to the 4th placed side who will do all they can to keep their chances of Champions League football alive.

My predictions for this game do see that of the home side Barcelona winning, and I also see plenty of goals being scored during the game to continue the clubs goal scoring history. So with that my banker bet will be for both teams to score and for Barcelona to win the game at the end of 90 minutes. The next prediction I am going for is for there to be a total of three goals scored on the night, which is an often situation when these two Spanish giants meet.
