Liverpool v Manchester City Preview, Premiership, Wednesday 2nd March 2016

Liverpool will be looking for revenge after losing to Manchester City last weekend on a penalty shoot-out in the League Cup final and with home advantage and a decent record against their visitors, they have every chance of doing so.

However, Manchester City will obviously be full of confidence for this match as they were slightly the better team last Sunday and with players like Sergio Aguero, David Silva and Ya Ya Toure the Liverpool defence will be kept extremely busy and with the club aiming to avoid three consecutive league defeats for the first time since 2008 the visitors just might have the edge in this one.

Liverpool Team News:

The hosts will give a late check to Mamadou Sakho who sustained a head injury on Sunday, while Martin Skrtel and Joe Allen (both hamstring) remain out and Dejan Lovren (illness) is still doubtful. Daniel Sturridge and Christian Benteke look the likely striker partnership for this game up front.

Manchester City Team News:

The visitors have no fresh injury worries, with Kevin De Bruyne (knee), Fabian Delph (Achilles) and Samir Nasri (hamstring) still sidelined. Sergio Aguero looks likely to lead the attack up front with support from the flanks being provided by David Silva and Raheem Sterling.

Liverpool are a current best price of 6/4 with Ladbrokes – Receive £50 Free Bets when Registering a New Account, to gain revenge for their defeat in the league cup final which took place over the weekend and this does look good value considering they are the home team here.

The Draw has happened twice in the previous five matches played between the two clubs, both of those draws having came in cup competitions, so getting on this one to finish all square could be a sensible cover option and is a current best price of 12/5 with Bet365 – Receive £200 Matched Bonus Bets when Registering a New Account.

Liverpool v Manchester City Match Predictions, Tips & First Goal Scorer Bets.

Liverpool will need to finish the season strongly if they are to obtain a place in Europe next season but face a difficult task in this match against Manchester City who themselves also need a strong finish to their season if they are to stay in contention for the Premiership title.

The match on Sunday was a very cagey affair with both sides enjoying plenty of possesion, but I think this game will be a little different as with both sides desperate for the win, I am expecting a more open and attacking game.

As such we should see at least a few goals scored so it could be an idea to take a look at the anytime goalscorer’s market, with Sergio Aguero and Daniel Sturridge probably most people’s choices to get on the score-sheet.

For me City look to have the slightly stronger squad and with the players knowing that anything but a victory could put an end to their title challenge, I think the visitors will again come out on top.

Onto some predictions then and my Banker Free Tip for this match is going to be for Manchester City to Win as they do look great value at their current odds on offer.

My First Goalscorer Free Tip will be Manchester City striker Sergio Aguero to open up the scoring for his side as he was very unlucky not to have done so on Sunday afternoon and I fully expect him to make ammends in this one.
