West Ham United v Aston Villa Preview, Premiership, Tuesday 2nd February 2016

West Ham head into this game on Tuesday night currently placed in 6th place of the Premiership league table on 36pts and just one point behind 5th placed Manchester United and with United having a tough looking match at home against Stoke City, West Ham have a real chance to secure that 5th spot with a victory at home against struggling Aston Villa.

Aston Villa head into the game still in desperate trouble at the bottom of the Premiership league table and although recent results have been a lot more encouraging, they are still 8pts from climbing out of the relegation places and this looks another tough looking game for the visitors.

West Ham United Team News:

The hosts continue to be without Carl Jenkinson, Manuel Lanzini, Diafra Sakho and Andy Carroll as each player is still receiving treatment for respective injury related problems.

James Tomkins, Cheikhou Kouyaté and Mark Noble are slight doubts for the match and will all under take a late fitness test to see if they can be involved. Enner Valencia will lead the attack up front alongside Nikica Jelavic.

Aston Villa Team News:

The visitors will be without the services of Jordan Amavi, Carlos Sanchez and Adama Traore as all three players continue to receive treatment for respective injury related problems. Alan Hutton, Kieran Richardson and Ashley Westwood are all doubts and will under take a late fitness test to see if they can be involved. Jordan Ayew and Gabriel Agbonlahor will lead the attack up front.

West Ham United v Aston Villa Head to Head Statistics:

Tuesday night’s fixture from the Boleyn Stadium will become the 96th meeting between the two clubs over the years. West Ham United have managed to secure 32 victories overall with 21 of these having come with home advantage, where as Aston Villa have managed 33 victories overall with just 8 of those having came away from home.

Our head to head statistics table below shows the last five matches played between the two clubs and as we can see there has been very little between the two clubs over recent season’s with both having won a game each and the remaining three matches having finished all square.

Previous Average Goals Per Game Statistics

293 Goals have been scored in the previous 95 matches played between the two clubs over the years, which provides us with an average goals per game statistic of 3.08.

147 of those Goals have been scored in the previous 47 matches played between the two clubs at the Boleyn Stadium which generates us an average goals per game statistic of 3.13.

Both sets of statistics seem to suggest that this game should see at least a few Goals scored on Tuesday night and betting markets such as Both Teams to Score, Total Match Goals 2 or 3 and Over 2.5 Goals all look good betting options for this game.

West Ham United are currently the clear favourites to win this game on Tuesday night at a best price available of 9/10 with with BetVictor – £50 Free Bets for New Customers Registering an Account and this does look quite good value considering their home record this season and the fact they are up against a side that is rooted at the bottom of the league table.

West Ham United v Aston Villa Match Predictions, Tips & First Goal Scorer Bets.

West Ham have a strong record at home this season having lost just twice and with a good 2-2 draw against big money spenders Manchester City last time out the confidence in the dressing room will obviously be very high indeed, especially playing against a side that has struggled all season.

Aston Villa have made some sort of attempt to try and climb out of the relegation places, but with just one win in their last five league matches played it really would take a miracle to see them not playing Championship football next season.

Onto some predictions then and with West Ham having looked rather unlucky not to have beaten Manchester City last time out, I am going to go with the hosts to make ammends in this game and secure all 3pts with a comfortable victory in front of their home fans.

My First Goalscorer Free Tip will be West Ham United striker Enner Valencia to open up the goalscoring for his club in this game as with a brace against City in his last game he will be in confident mood of adding more goals to his season’s tally.
