Arsenal v Everton Preview, Premiership, Sunday 1st March 2015

Arsenal head into this game on the back of that shock 3-1 defeat at home in the UEFA Champions League 1st Leg against Monaco and the players confidence will no doubt have taken a bit of a hit from that loss as pretty much everyone expected them to win that game.

Manager Arsene Wenger now has a big job in front of him to try and get his players up for this important match on Sunday afternoon if they are to protect their current 3rd place position in the league table and it will be interesting to see how the players respond in this one.

Everton head into the game having seemed to have turned their form around in recent weeks and although they are not winning as many games as their fans would like, they are slowly moving away from the relegation places and in the direction and with another impressive victory midweek in the Europa League against Young Boys, they do look as though they will be a tough test for Arsenal this weekend.

Arsenal Team News:

Jack Wilshere, Aaron Ramsey, Mathieu Falmini, Mikel Arterta, Abou Diaby and Mathieu Debuchy are all unavailable for the hosts as they continue to receive treatment for respective injury related problems. Oliver Giroud, Alexis Sanchez and Danny Welbeck are likely to lead the attack up front.

Everton Team News:

Steven Pienaar, Aiden McGeady, Bryan Oviedo and Tony Hibbert all remain unavailable for the visitors along with Christian Atsu who is suffering from an illness. Romelu Lukaku is expected to start this game despite having to come off early in the second half against Young Boys midweek as the player came through training on Friday with no further issues.

John Stones and Aarron Lennon both return to the squad having missed that midweek Europa League match and both look likely to be involved.

Arsenal v Everton Head to Head Statistics:

As we can see in our head to head statistics table below, which shows the previous 5 meetings between the two clubs over recent season’s, the results have been very close with both clubs having managed to win one game a piece and the remaining three matches having finished all square.

Arsenal v Everton Match Betting Odds Market

Arsenal are the clear odds on favourites to win this game at a current best price of 8/15 with Coral – Deposit £5 & Receive £20 Free Bets for New Customers, but having suffered a shock 3-1 defeat midweek in the Champions League, these odds do look a bit short and not really much value £20 Free Bets for New Customers.

The Draw does look value as three of the last five meetings have finished all square and with Everton desperate to pick up points in order to move away from the wrong end of the table, I do think they could manage a draw in this game and at a current best price of 17/5 with BetVictor -£25 Free Bets for New Customers, this does look a good option.

Everton are doing okay recently and despite not setting the world alight I do think they could possibly cause a bit of a shock on Sunday afternoon in North London and at their current best price of 6/1 with Betfred – Bet £10 & Receive £30 Free Bets for New Customers, this does look a bit overpriced.

Arsenal v Everton Match Predictions, Tips & First Goal Scorer Bets.

Arsenal will want to bounce back from their shock defeat midweek against Monaco 3-1 at home in the Champions League 1st Leg as that result really did catch many people off guard, but with Everton having started to play a bit better in recent weeks and having only lost just once in their last six meetings against Arsenal, the hosts do face a bit of a tough test on Sunday afternoon.

Everton fans are still seemingly frustrated with the way manager Roberto Martinez is doing things at the club this season and their current league position does reflect their performances. However, this match provides them with a great chance to move up a few places in the league table with a victory and with players like Romelu Lukaku, Ross Barkley and Steven Naismith all looking likely to be involved, they do have a very real scoring threat and with the Arsenal defence having conceded seven goals in their last five matches played in all competitions, the visitors should definitely get on the score-sheet during this game at some point.

The average goals per game statistics are expecting this match to see a minimum of three goals scored and this does look a likely outcome as both sides certainly have players in good goal scoring form up front and betting markets like total match goals 2 or 3 and over 2.5 goals both look good places to check the odds on.

My Banker for this game has to be Both Teams to Score as I do agree strongly with what the average goals per game statistics are showing and I would expect to seem something along the lines of a 1-1 or 2-1 either way score-line come the full time whistle.

My Saver is going to be for Alexis Sanchez to Score First Goal as the Arsenal striker is definitely overdue one and his current odds available do look decent value.
